Utter Rubbish
I am a business professional and an American expat living in France. I moved away from the USA with my daughter to escape the madness of trying to raise a child alone in a place where all the best resources go to the highest bidder and the national language is rugged individualism.
When I was young, my dream was to live in Los Angeles and write movie scripts about subjects that mattered; then I saw firsthand that nothing in Hollywood mattered except turning a profit, so I gave up and stayed in New York to work for global corporations.
I am a recovered idealist, but even now, I suffer from a bad case of hope.
Utter Rubbish started as a blog about financial education, but it has merged with my other blogging personality that was focused more on a variety of social criticism, controversial economic concepts, and the broaching of progressive ideas about order and society.
In my youth, I was typically labeled as a pessimist, a downer, and a depressive; yet, as time rolled by, my concerns too often proved to be correct. I understand people who are worried, but I also do not support wild conspiracies.
I believe in life, and protecting it, and honoring it. I believe that any cause that asks people to die for it should be scrutinized intensely, and rarely, if ever, accepted.
I have worked for very wealthy people, and I have little to show for it except a bit of insider knowledge that gives me flexibility on how I earn my income. Otherwise, I am just another person out here trying to raise a kid against all odds and protect that child from all the dangers and horrors of corporate America.
